Working with the Albigen System

Shawn Nevins,

I write this for those who have worked with the Albigen System with varying degrees of success. By now, you probably view society as a barnyard, yet manage to live fairly pleasantly (or numbly) within this show. In other words, you compromise. It is apparent that all of you are dabbling in distractions. You are either openly or slyly building a fallback position – a hedge to stave off your fears.

You will not get serious until you exhaust, see through, or simply ignore your distractions. Do not despair over your lack of seriousness. Each day you recognize this lack is more valuable than thinking you are the Buddha incarnated. You imagine that one day you will walk into the proverbial desert, draw a circle in the sand, and refuse to come out until you are enlightened. Yet the desert is here, now. Every day offers you opportunity to laugh at your self and turn from the ridiculous and untrue.

A realization of one’s true nature requires effort in many directions, as Mr. Rose’s “Chart of the Detailed Steps” illustrates. With effort comes fatigue, then the cessation of work, and then forgetfulness. As a group, we must keep each other awake – calling into the fog.

How much longer do you have to delay? Without doubt, discovering one’s true nature is possible for all that have come this far, and is worth any price. I am not a cheerleader, though. I am a realist. You are at all times, utterly alone, without security or certainty. In what cave will you hide when night falls; what words will comfort you? What will it take to bring you Home?
