Everyday Holocaust

An antique tin of Wellington typewriter ribbon, no bigger than a half-dollar, holds and pierces my heart with loss. I am suddenly surrounded, drowning in the discarded trinkets of life that fill this flea market as poignantly as the piles of shoes at Dachau.
