The peeps and chirps

The peeps and chirps of a gypsy band of birds warn me of me, like rain splashing attention’s eye; blinking away the daydreams, appropriating awareness from memory, and shaking off the stupor of self. This band of birds – wandering monks – chanting, “Now,” “Now,” and “Now.”
